Campaign to make the American public aware of the high odds of having an autistic person in the family with Nascar racer Jami McMurray, who has a niece with autism.
The story takes place in different races from Jamie’s life, focusing on the low odds of winning them all.
The story had to be emotional and epic, so the longer the story the better. It had to start with a child Jamie and finish with a super professional Nascar competition.
We built everything in paper scale models. Since we wanted to make our story emotional, we imagined that sunset lights on racing cars would give us the proper look. Details like smoke and motion blurs were built on paper so as to add speed to our cars.
The stop motion animation gave life to this story, adding the adrenaline and speed, giving a unique look to this piece,
The campaign was launched by BBDO New York with Jamie sharing it in his social media, Jamie also appeared on Autism Speaks events and helped visualize autism with the story of his family.
